Sponsorship proposal and CV of Matt HUNT
IntroductionMatt Hunt is the most
successful junior rider in New Zealand motocross history.
That’s a huge achievement given the riders that have gone
through the ranks before him who now dominate international
motocross and supercross events such as Josh Coppins, Ben
Townley, and the King brothers. Matt who is from
Gisborne, has always had a passion for riding and racing dirt
bikes. With the support of his parents, Terry and Wendy, Matt
was racing all over New Zealand following the motocross and
supercross series, collecting numerous regional championship
titles along the way. Strong family values have taught the
teenager a huge amount with regards to presentation,
professionalism, ethics and the value of “hard, yet smart”,
work. But it is not
Matt’s incredible ability to win races that really stands out –
it’s his attitude. Matt is a hugely popular and respected
competitor off the motorcycle. This means he has a huge
following with competitors, supporters, sponsors and the general
public. Matt’s cool, calm and collected nature makes him the “ultimate
ambassador” for both the sport and his sponsors. As the
youngest rider at 16 years old, Matt contested the 2007
Senior Motocross Nationals and posted a respectable eighth place
in the 125cc Class. He made the podium at the Rotorua round
finishing in second equal place. In 2008 he
finished fifth overall in the 125cc Class and third in the Under
21 Class within a class. He had mixed luck with no points
scored at the Timaru round but a win in the Under 21 class at
the Hawkes Bay round. Many are
tipping Matt to be one of the next big names in New Zealand and
international motocross, so all eyes will be on him in
2009-2010 as he continues to cement his place in the NZ and
international motocross and supercross arena.

Upcoming
events
SUPERCROSS Matt has a particular interest in Supercross and shows a good style and rhythm which is vital to achieving success at this facet of the sport. He recently competed in the Hamilton Superx and through a combination of lap times and heat races qualified for 4th gate pick, no mean feat at this sophisticated event. He finished in 7th place overall after a small crash in the second race cost him some valuable points. The NZ Supercross season takes place in January 2010 with the following programme January 6 Timaru Round 1 NZ SX Champs January 9 Motueka South Island SX Champs January 10 Motueka Round 2 NZ SX Champs January 16 Tokoroa Round 3 NZ SX Champs January 23 Manukau Round 4 NZ SX Champs return on sponsorship
